Feel calmer, clearer, and at home in your body.
Somatic and Internal Family Systems Therapy for Anxiety, Burnout, and Self-Trust.
Helping high-achievers and empaths regulate their nervous system and reconnect to themselves.
You’ve read the books. You’ve done the work. You can explain your triggers. Yet your body still feels on edge.
You’re constantly analyzing, replaying conversations, trying to get it right, but even on good days, it’s hard to relax.
You’re not broken.
Your nervous system has simply learned to stay alert to keep you safe.
Traditional talk therapy can bring understanding, but lasting change requires the body’s involvement for somatic and nervous system healing.
Somatic and IFS therapy work gently with both mind and body, helping you understand the protective parts that keep you in survival mode, and teaching your nervous system how to truly rest again.
The body remembers. We help you listen.

Hi, I’m Jen — a Registered Clinical Counsellor here in Squamish, BC.
I help people who feel stuck in cycles of anxiety, people-pleasing, or perfectionism to reconnect with themselves and move through life with more confidence and ease.
My approach blends somatic and connection therapy with Internal Family Systems, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and an intuitive awareness of spirituality and healing.
Together, we explore how patterns like anxious attachment, emotional exhaustion, and work burnout live in your body, and how to gently heal them through awareness, breath, and regulation.
Our work is collaborative and trauma-informed; we move at your pace, integrating mind, body, and spirit so that growth feels safe and sustainable.
Clients often share that they feel calmer, more grounded, and more confident setting boundaries; not just understanding their emotions, but embodying the change in daily life.
Jen is amazing at what she does, and has a naturally warm and supportive personality. I would highly recommend her as a counsellor if you value a professional who is intuitive, calm and grounded. She's especially great at facilitating somatic work, which has been very effective for me!
Investing in yourself with Jen Saunders and Embody You Counselling yields big returns. I love her approach, which integrates body practices that help enhance both physical and mental health, as well as emotional well-being. She has a warm and open energy that makes it easy to open up and explore the things that might be holding you back or keeping you stuck. Can't recommend Jen enough!

Traditional talk therapy can be incredibly supportive for understanding your thoughts, behaviors, and emotions.Somatic and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy build on that by including your whole system - body, mind, and spirit - in the process.
Somatic therapy brings gentle awareness to how your body holds tension, stress, or protection. Instead of only talking about experiences, we learn to listen to the body’s signals and allow them to move and release safely.
IFS helps us explore the different “parts” within you - the overthinker, the people-pleaser, the inner critic, and approach each one with compassion rather than judgment.
Together, these approaches go beyond insight alone. They support deep, embodied healing by integrating awareness, mindfulness, and nervous-system regulation so change becomes sustainable in daily life.

The first two sessions are intentionally broad and exploratory. We’ll spend time getting to know you, your background, history, and what’s bringing you to this work. These early sessions are about building a relationship from the ground up and creating safety.
You’re always welcome to pass on anything you’re not ready to discuss; our focus is on moving at your pace. Together, we’ll begin identifying key themes or goals for our work, whether specific or more open-ended.
As we move into sessions three and four, we start to narrow our focus and explore these areas more deeply. We’ll look at how these themes show up in your life and body - noticing thoughts, emotions, and nervous-system responses that arise as you reflect.
Many clients begin scheduling weekly or biweekly sessions early on to build continuity. Over time, this often transitions into every few weeks or monthly “maintenance” sessions as the work deepens and integration grows.

Feeling stuck or meeting resistance is a completely natural and even valuable part of therapy. These moments reveal important information about what’s happening within your system.
Sometimes “stuckness” signals that something is moving too quickly or that a part of you is protecting against change. Other times, it reflects a freeze response, which is the body’s way of asking for space or safety before going deeper. Rather than pushing through, we meet these moments with curiosity and compassion.
Change can be both exciting and uncomfortable, so the focus is always on honoring all parts of your experience. When your whole system feels safe, progress happens naturally and sustainably.

Progress often begins to appear outside of our sessions in your daily life, relationships, or how you relate to yourself. At first, you might notice an increased awareness of patterns that were once unconscious. This stage doesn’t always feel easy, but it’s an essential part of transformation: awareness is the first step toward change. Over time, these patterns begin to shift. You might feel calmer in moments that used to overwhelm you, communicate more clearly, or set boundaries without guilt.
Ultimately, success isn’t about perfection; it’s about living with greater ease, trust, and connection, both within yourself and in the world around you.

Yes, I offer both in-person sessions in Squamish and secure online therapy across British Columbia.
Online sessions take place through a private, encrypted video platform and can be equally effective as in-person work. Many clients appreciate being able to do this work from the comfort of home, where they can integrate somatic and mindfulness practices into their real environment.
