Somatic Counselling & IFS Therapy Online & In Squamish, BC
The body remembers what the mind forgets.
Through a blend of somatic therapy, Internal Family Systems parts work, and mindfulness-based stress reduction, our work helps you reconnect with your body’s wisdom, regulate your nervous system, and create lasting change.
I offer individual counselling for adults (19+). Sessions are 60 minutes and designed to help you understand your patterns, calm your nervous system, and reconnect with yourself.
The Embody You Approach
A Grounded Holistic Approach to Healing
Counselling can support a wide range of experiences, whether you’re navigating transition, working through relationship challenges, or exploring your own growth and healing. Every session is an invitation to slow down, notice, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that are asking for attention. Our process integrates three key modalities.
Somatic Experiencing
Trauma, stress, and emotion live in the body. Somatic healing and body mind counselling works directly with these physical sensations to release stored tension and restore nervous system regulation. Through breath, gentle movement, and body awareness, we learn to listen to what your system is communicating, and help it find safety again.
Internal Family Systems Therapy
IFS recognizes that we are made up of many “parts,” each carrying its own story, role, or wound. Some protect us by overworking, pleasing others, or avoiding pain. Others hold vulnerability or emotion. Together, we bring curiosity and compassion to each part, helping your internal system move toward balance and self-leadership.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
Mindfulness helps bridge the gap between awareness and regulation. Using simple grounding and presence techniques, connection therapy strengthens your capacity to pause, notice, and respond rather than react, both in session and in daily life.
What to Expect in Your First Sessions
Every session is unique, but the process follows a gentle, collaborative rhythm. We move at a pace that feels safe for your body and your system.
Sessions 1 & 2
Broad and exploratory. We’ll spend time understanding what brings you here and how you experience yourself - emotionally, mentally, and physically. You’re encouraged to share at your own pace; this is about safety and connection, not performance.
Sessions 3 & 4
We begin focusing on specific themes. As we talk, I’ll invite awareness to what’s happening in your body - breath, tension, sensations - and we’ll use that information to guide the process.
Ongoing Work
As our relationship deepens, we’ll integrate more somatic awareness, parts work (IFS), and mindfulness-based tools. Sessions often start weekly or biweekly and may space out as you feel more regulated.
The goal isn’t to fix yourself, it’s to develop awareness, compassion, and resilience so your system can heal naturally.

Traditional talk therapy can be incredibly supportive for understanding your thoughts, behaviors, and emotions.Somatic and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy build on that by including your whole system - body, mind, and spirit - in the process.
Somatic therapy brings gentle awareness to how your body holds tension, stress, or protection. Instead of only talking about experiences, we learn to listen to the body’s signals and allow them to move and release safely.
IFS helps us explore the different “parts” within you - the overthinker, the people-pleaser, the inner critic, and approach each one with compassion rather than judgment.
Together, these approaches go beyond insight alone. They support deep, embodied healing by integrating awareness, mindfulness, and nervous-system regulation so change becomes sustainable in daily life.

Feeling stuck or meeting resistance is a completely natural and even valuable part of therapy. These moments reveal important information about what’s happening within your system.
Sometimes “stuckness” signals that something is moving too quickly or that a part of you is protecting against change. Other times, it reflects a freeze response, which is the body’s way of asking for space or safety before going deeper. Rather than pushing through, we meet these moments with curiosity and compassion.
Change can be both exciting and uncomfortable, so the focus is always on honoring all parts of your experience. When your whole system feels safe, progress happens naturally and sustainably.
-
Progress often begins to appear outside of our sessions in your daily life, relationships, or how you relate to yourself. At first, you might notice an increased awareness of patterns that were once unconscious. This stage doesn’t always feel easy, but it’s an essential part of transformation: awareness is the first step toward change. Over time, these patterns begin to shift. You might feel calmer in moments that used to overwhelm you, communicate more clearly, or set boundaries without guilt.
Ultimately, success isn’t about perfection; it’s about living with greater ease, trust, and connection, both within yourself and in the world around you.
